High Five For Friday!

Hey - welcome to Friday!!! I have to admit that I have had a pretty incredible week, even if it did snow in May!  The best part is that there is still fun to come.  Tonight I am hosting some fellow brides-to-be from the area for skin care and color class hosted by my friend, Kenzie.  It will be so fun to get this group of beautiful ladies together to drink wine and have Kenzie help us to get beautiful before our big day!

As for the rest of the week, it went sort of like this....

One. I helped out at the Minnesota State FFA Convention with the selection of the new State FFA Officer team.  For those of you who aren't familiar with FFA, it's the worlds largest youth organization focused on agriculture.  I was able to work with a highly professional group of young people over a course of 5 hours to selection 6 youth leaders to represent Minnesota.  It was such a fun experience!

Two. Since I happened to be up in the twin cities, I met up with some of my dear friends to catch up and do a little shopping.  It was awesome!

Three. I did a little shopping at West Elm in Edina, MN.  I brought home some great finds!  Plus, the sweet sales associate, Rebecca, helped me to order these curtains and waived the shipping.  She was awesome - thanks Rebecca!

Four. I finished registering at Target (finally. Feel free to look me up if your curious.) and upon checkout (yes, I registered for things but there were a few I couldn't wait to get) I got a coupon for a free treat from Starbucks since I was a Red Card holder.  I chose this yummy lemmon cake pop!

Five. I signed up as an interior designer thru Sherwin Williams recently and got all of this great stuff in the mail including all kinds of paint samples for clients!  I can't wait to start taking on more e-design clients!

Six. While I was in Minnesota I was able to meet Jackie from Teal & Lime and visit with her about blogging and starting an interior design business.  She is so kind, talented and I love her creative and business-like mind.  You seriously need to check out her blog and admire her work!

There were some other cool things that took place over the past couple of days that I hope to share with you soon!  In the meantime, have a terrific weekend and find happiness in the small things!

High Five For Friday

The weather forecast for Western Iowa is mid 60's and sunny with good weather all weekend - woohoo! I can't wait for the sun to shine and get outside.  Now if only I had a clothes line to hang clothes on to dry my laundry, (boo for laundry) life would be real good!

One. I did some serious wedding-related ordering on Etsy last weekend and my items are already starting to arrive! Including this sash applique to go with my dress!

Two. I spent two days in a training session on coaching this week.  To be honest, I dreaded it (even though I work in training) but it actually turned out to be great.  The facilitators were fun and the content was good!

Three. We got a new (old) refrigerator! This sounds completely silly I know but I am thrilled.  I don't have to bend over to look in the fridge now! The whole concept of the freezer on the top and fridge on the bottom is silly - who thought of that anyhow?! Plus Adam got his "beer fridge" for the garage now. My parents are building a new house so they were kind enough to donate their current refrigerator to their nearly 30-year-old children as a temporary upgrade until we re-do our kitchen.

Four. I have begun the wedding registry process - tho I'm not far, a start is ok!

Five. On nice evenings in the spring and summer we often grab a couple drinks and do a little walk thru our pasture to check out our calves.  Sounds so simple, but it's pretty fun.  Here are a few shots from last night.

This is Kitty Kitty, she rarely goes out to the pasture but if we are out there, so is she. So of course, he has to take a break to pet her. :)

Happies and Crappies (Trying Something New!)

Happy Friday - I am so glad this day has arrived, it's seemed like a long work week and I'm ready for the weekend.  Sleep in (a little) on Saturday, drink a cup of coffee and watch HGTV when I wake up sounds like a pretty good start to a Saturday morning!

I typically do a High Five For Friday Post but this week I'm going to give 'Happies and Crappies' a try.  Don't worry - I still have a high 5! :)


Happies
One. It is Friday and the sun is shining! I love sunshine - it just puts me in a good mood! Two. This week I got to work with FFA members twice. This is such a great organization. I always feel so motivated after I talk to this great group of young people and anyone associated with the organization! Three. I started a new arm workout this week.  My goal is to have great-looking arms and shoulders by our wedding!  (If the workout produces results, I'll probably share it with you all!) Four. Last night I spent the night looking through the wedding section of Etsy and found all kinds of great ideas and things I want to do for my bridesmaids!  Can't wait to get started on some of this stuff and get some of these good ordered! Five. I ordered a dress from Filly Flair - a boutique shop in South Dakota - and got my dress this week.  I am thinking of wearing it for our engagement pictures on May 9. Crappies
One. It's cold here in Iowa.  I shouldn't complain though, Minnesota got snow this week. Two. I have a major knot in my back.  Like it burns and causes my arm to go a little numb.  I am seeing a massage therapist weekly for a couple weeks to get rid of this problem. (that's a good thing though!)
